Daniel Howe
Daniel Howe (www.pstreetstudio.com) is a member of the College of Fellows of the American Society of Landscape Architects. He is Assistant Professor of the Practice in Landscape Architecture at North Carolina State University in Raleigh and has written articles on subjects such as landscape conservation, urban open space, the National Parks, and city planning for regional and national publications. This is his first book-length project. Dan has traveled widely in the National Parks, and has hiked the length of the 2100-mile Appalachian National Scenic Trail and bicycled the length of the 469-mile Blue Ridge Parkway. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Appalachian Trail Conservancy. He's hoping this project will get him to Alaska.

Simon Griffiths
Simon Griffiths (www.simong.com) was born in England but has called Raleigh, North Carolina his home since he was eleven. Simon's work has been featured in national magazines such as Smithsonian, National Geographic, Inc. Magazine, CEO Magazine, Banking Strategies, and many other local, regional, and national publications. Simon completed a recent book project: Secrets of Success, NC Values-Based Leadership authored by retired General Hugh Shelton, former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, published by Ivy House Books, featuring black-and-white portraits of 35 of NC's most notable citizens. Simon aspires to captain a sailboat.
