Michael and Carl Strunk

"Following Footsteps"
Olympic National Park - Washington

Michael is a back-country specialist and a helicopter rescue technician at Olympic National Park.  His father, Carl, has been a National Park Service employee for 40 years.  Michael grew up on the peninsula.  As a child, he and his father hiked throughout the park he now knows intimately.  Michael recently married an ornithologist who also grew up in Port Angeles, the daughter of a logger.
